We hear about them in parables of being slow and plodding, steady and methodical, and being occasionally obsessed with Ninjitsu, news reporters, and pizza. We are, of course, talking about Turtles! Turtles are a type of reptile that exists in many environments throughout the world and have found their way into literature, poetry, and parable throughout the world’s history. World Turtle Day celebrates these noble reptiles and their place in the world and encourages people to take action to help protect both the common pet turtle and the ever endangered sea turtle. Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day @May 17

Image
This is a much more serious topic and also a very important one . Neurofibromatosis is a condition that causes tumours to form in the brain, nerves,or the spinal cord.Thankfully the tumors are non cancerous but still this is a very serious and harsh disease. It is a genetic disorder. There are 3 types of this disease:Type 1 which occurs in children and type 2 and type 3 occur in adults.Type 1 can cause bone deformities, learning disabilities and high blood pressure. Type 2 can cause hearing loss, vision loss and difficulty with balance. Type 3 can cause chronic pain throughout the body. Moreover this condition is not curable. It is a very gruesome condition as well.Hope the following picture will help enhance your understanding Luckily though it is a very rare case. In India there are fewer than one million cases every year . This is also non contagious. Neurofibromatosis is caused by genetic defects (mutations) that either are passed on by a parent or occur spontaneously at conception. Th

Chocolate Chip Day @May 15

Chocolate.Who doesn't love chocolate. The most perfectly made food or dessert of all time.It is incomparable. Everyone loves chocolate , the kids , the adults and even the elderly. Whether you eat it as a cookie or use chocolate chips in a cake or ice cream, it doesn't matter as it is simply delicious.See as usual I would have gone speaking about chocolate but let's note this it is chocolate chip day not chocolate day. We will save the chocolate history for another day. It all started at a little place you may recognize the name of, the Toll House Inn. Located in Whitman, Massachusetts, it just happens to be the home of that most favorite of cookies, the chocolate chip cookie. Ruth Graves Wakefield had originally planned on making a chocolate cookie, and decided to do so by throwing in chunks of a chocolate bar into it. In a happy accident, it turned out that the chocolate did not melt and mix with the rest of the cookie, but maintained its shape, filling the cookie with del

Quiche Lorraine @May 20

Image
A dreamy marriage of cheese and shortcrust, the humble quiche is one of the tastiest dishes you can get your mitts on. Served either warm or cold, and packed with ham or veggies, this is a super versatile meal that goes with all sorts of sides. And what’s more, they are pretty simple to cook! The quiche lorraine has a history almost as rich as its crumbly crust and is enjoyed worldwide, especially during the warm summer months. So it’s no surprise that fans of the meal have made May 20th a day to celebrate everything that’s great about this delicious, nutritious treat. Feeling hungry? That’s nothing that a slice or two of quiche lorraine can’t solve. If you’re feeling a bit artistic in the kitchen, this would be a great excuse to try your hand at making a quiche lorraine yourself! You’ll need bacon, eggs, cream, milk, and cheese. And if you’re going to go the whole hog and be super authentic, you’ll need the ingredients to make a shortcrust pastry from fresh. It always tastes better th

Image
What a coincidence! The world has now truly begun to understand the value of healthcare workers amidst the corona virus pandemic and guess what its nurse day.In my opinion this nurse day should be celebrated like none before as it is now that we need them the most. But mark my word this isn't going to be another long essay about the corona virus.(You don't deserve even that you virus!)This will be like usual a fun ,entertaining, and factual piece of  entertainment . SO Buckle up,tie your seatbelts and let's go(God it's been so long since I have been on a flight) Historically, as well as today, nurses are at the forefront of fighting epidemics and pandemics -  providing high quality and respectful treatment and care. They are often the first and sometimes the only health professional that people see and the quality of their initial assessment, care and treatment is vital. Nurses account for more than half of all the world’s health workers, yet there is an urgent shortage
